Sen. Mark Warner

On the first day of the 117th Congress, Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) was sworn in for his third term by Vice President Mike Pence.

Sen. Warner served as the 69th governor of Virginia. He was elected to the Senate in 2008 and Warner won reelection in 2014. He won reelection to a third term in 2020, defeating Republican challenger Daniel Gade (55 – 43).

Mark Warner is famous for saying “I will serve no more than two terms. I don’t want to be a lifelong politician” during the 1996 U.S. Senate Debate. Some have criticized him for seeking a third term.

    • I’d contact your HR office for an accurate answer. Private companies sometimes do for the morale of the employees but for states, I doubt it. Let me know what you find out.
