On December 25, 2020, there has been an explosion in downtown Nashville at 6:30 am.

6:40 AM

  • The blast happened on 2nd Ave between Church St & Commerce St
  • Three people were taken to the hospital

10:00 AM

  • Gov. Bill Lee (link) and Mayor John Cooper releases statements
  • Police spokesman Don Aaron (watch) said it was an ‘intentional act’
  • Witnesses said they heard gunshots early in the morning
  • Witnesses also heard a message coming from an RV parked in the street warning people to evacuate
  • One officer suffered hearing loss

11:20 AM

  • Trump was briefed on the explosion


  • Police have found tissue that could be human remains near the bomb site

December 26, 2020

  • Metro Police Chief John Drake names six officers as heroes for potentially saving the lives of the residents near the RV. The officers got people out of their homes before the explosion

  • Police confirmed that Anthony Quinn Warner, 63, is the person of interest

  • Police confirmed that the bomber died in the blast
  • Motivation still unknown
