Loudoun County Public Schools to Resume Hybrid In-Person Learning

During the School Board meeting on Tuesday, the Board voted 8-1 to resume its hybrid in-person learning by February 16 for the stage 1-3 groups whose parents chose the hybrid learning model. Parents who decide to maintain the 100% remote learning model can stay with the plan.

Possible Motion Voted

  • Stage 1-3: re-initiate the in-person learning no later than February 16, 2021
  • Stage 4: no later than March 3, 2021

Current Hybrid Model: In-Person Learning and Distance Learning

  • 2 days in-person learning
    • The daily schedule includes student arrival/dismissal, morning meeting, instruction, lunch, and recess which totals approx. 6 hours and 45 minutes per day
  • 3 days distance learning
    • Monday
      • 20-30 min morning meeting
      • 20 min small groups as needed
      • 60 min asynchronous work daily
    • Tuesday – Friday
      • 20-30 min synchronous morning meeting daily
      • 60 min asynchronous work daily
